Stories with Grandma Nancy Andry
Monroe Connecticut, USA
Grandmother Nancy Andry spent most of her life with children and horses. In the mid 80’s she became a story-teller to build bridges between the First Nations people and the Dominant Society to dispel the misinformation bad movies and misleading history books. Come and join us for an afternoon and learn the creation stories and myths that were gifted to her by her elders. She has shared with school programs from Pre Kindergarten to high school, at pow wows and in libraries. Anywhere people would come together in circle to listen is where she could be found. Grandma Nancy was also the official storyteller at joined Nations of Connecticut, a youth group for children of native decent. Over the years she has collected stories and songs from different nations. Most of her time now is spent teaching traditional lessons, however horses and children will always be her first love.
Please join us for a lovely afternoon with Grandma.

"I just want to thank you for the wonderful team building workshop you facilitated for our team of Community Developers from Ottawa Salus Community Mental Health Services. Being out at Davalon and working with you and your beautiful horses was an important experience for us all. You had an amazing way of tuning in to us as individuals and as a team. One of my coworkers commented that you 'nailed' many things and I absolutely agree! We all appreciated that you didn't put us through anything too intense, but rather that you gently and intuitively planted seeds that got us all thinking. Your workshop allowed us a wonderful opportunity for authentic connection- among ourselves as a team as well as individually with Spirit. Thank you so much for this unique and powerful team building experience".
